Still Colonized? Liberalism in Muslim Thought

On May 9th, 2015 I gave a lecture on Liberalism in Muslim Thought at IMEC 2015 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The lecture touched up on some of the basic principles of Liberalism and the three major effects it has on Muslim-majority societies at large: (1) The degradation of Islam, (2) The rise of atheism and Western exceptionalism, and (3) the rise of terrorism and extremism.

Thank you again to Wanita ISMA and the Muslim Debate Initiative.

  1. Brother I want to leave you a comment and a question

In the US where I live, we have people who defend Islam in tv shows and they soooooo bad at it. We have dudes like Reza Aslan, Fareed Zakaria, and other secular people who I am disappointed with because they have no foundation of knowing Islam. They get scared when they are asked about hudud punishments and they say that is not Islam, but fundamentalism.

I want to ask you a question: How should we talk to people like these Fox News people and this indecent Bill maher that yes there is such thing as stoning, but there are extreme conditions?

Thank you and I will reply if I can
